Introduction

Nicholas Roth was 28 years old when he died in a climbing accident in Nicaragua in November 2004. Nick loved to travel and visited many unusual destinations throughout the world. He always travelled with his guitar so "I could communicate with the children". He used to entertain with his music and whilst in Nicaragua he was seen playing guitar on stage to a bar full of locals.

He loved to help people less fortunate than himself. Work colleagues have spoken of his enthusiasm for a teaching programme at an inner City school which he visited to help immigrant children learn English. He was a Corporate lawyer but it was his commitment to human rights causes that drove him to dedicate hundreds of hours to pro bono legal work. He was due to work at the Rwandan War Tribunals to do his part to rectify the injustices of the Rwandan genocide. To Nick this was the law that really mattered.

For this reason his family have set up this trust to raise money for deprived children and victims of human rights atrocities across the world. The trustees will nominate appropriate charities which they believe are worthy of support. His family hope that this will enable others to continue Nick’s good work and for his memory to live on.
